A skilled craftsman, who used computers to solve problems as early as a primary school when he helped setting up and querying databases for his parents and their fellow businessmen. A curious mind, who wants to understand how the computer works down to the level of quantum wells in its transistor’s semiconductors.
Mateusz graduated from Computer Engineering at the Gdańsk University of Technology. He also studied Psychology first at Gdańsk University and then at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań where he started his first job at the Polish Academy of Sciences’ Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Centre. From the first days of his career, he was an avid researcher and eager prototype developer. His interests slowly veered towards machine learning and IT security, he co-authored a few solutions to employ computer power to secure end-users from various threats and phishing attacks. Finally, at QED Software he researches how to harness the power of machine learning for handling big data at a reasonable pace.
Privately Mateusz is an airplane pilot, a dedicated hiker and a bike tourer. Sometimes in the heat of the night dances salsa, however during winter, he doesn’t mind jumping into the ice-cold water.
